Refund policy

When you buy goods from Horngate, unless in the case of defective goods where the defect is clearly noted, we guarantee that:

  • goods will be of acceptable quality
  • goods will be fit for a particular purpose
  • goods will match their description
  • Horngate will honour any express warranties
  • you have title to the goods
  • you have undisturbed possession of the goods
  • there are no undisclosed securities on the goods

If a product you buy fails to meet Horngate's guarantee, you have a right to a remedy. The remedy you receive will be based upon the assessment of a representative of Horngate or a contractor working on behalf of Horngate. Potential remedies are as follows: 

  • refund
  • repair
  • replacement or exchange

You will not be entitled to a remedy if you:

  • simply change your mind, decide you do not like your purchase or have no use for it
  • damage or use goods in an unreasonable or unintended manner
  • discover you can buy the goods more cheaply elsewhere (unless Horngate guarantees that the goods cannot be purchased more cheaply elsewhere)
  • examined the goods before buying and ought to have seen any obvious fault
  • had a defect drawn to your attention before buying (such as goods labelled clearly with their faults)
  • did not rely upon, or unreasonably relied upon, the seller’s skill or judgment when choosing a product
  • you have inspected the goods you have purchased and made an offer based on that inspection

You are not entitled to claim against Horngate where the failure to meet a consumer guarantee is due to:

  • something someone else said or did, unless it was their agent or employee
  • an event that was beyond Horngate’s control

To make a claim under Horngate's guarantee, contact us immediately by email to staff@horngate.com.au upon noticing any defects with your purchase. Provide your proof of purchase, your contact details and describe the defect you have experienced. A representative of Horngate will respond within 2 business days.
